Most part of transportation system in Central China's Henan Province has seen the resumption of normal services as of Thursday, after heavy downpours and floods drenched the province on July 20, said Ministry of Transportation (MOT) on Thursday.
By 7 am on Thursday morning, a total of 66 sections of expressways, national and provincial highways returned to normal operation. A total of 1,021 of 1,685 cut roads in rural areas had returned to normal. Majorities of damaged railways were also back in service, according to MOT.
Across the aviation sector, MOT said Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport had resumed full operations on Tuesday evening, and daily capacity had recovered to 600 flights, the same level before the flooding. The postal service of the province is also back to normal without parcel overstock.
MOT has said that further precautionary measures will be put in place in accordance with changing weather patterns. A total of 15 million yuan ($2.32 million) will be allocated by nation's financial department to rebuild damaged transportation system in Henan.
